The Request of James and John
The Request of James and John
James and John were fisherman and these fiery
characters were called the “sons of thunder”. James was eventually martyred
(Acts 12:2) but John was radically changed and went on to become the “apostle
of love” who wrote John’s Gospel and Revelation. However, at this point in the
journey they did not understand why Jesus had to die and Jesus had to give them
a lesson in the kind of leadership he had come to demonstrate.
Why did Jesus come to be our servant?
